Christmas is coming and the Henderson Christmas Festival is back in 2024, with a new addition!
Now featuring a parade, organised by the Waipareira Trust, there is just four weeks to go until the biggest Christmas event in the West on Saturday 7 December.
The free family festivities will kick off with the parade at 11am, beginning from Edmonton Road. The parade will run down Alderman Drive, to Ratanui Street and then Great North Road.
“The Henderson Christmas Festival is one of our biggest and most anticipated events of the year and we’re delighted that it is nearly time again!” says Henderson-Massey Local Board Chair Chris Carter.
“For the first time, we are delighted to have the addition of the Waipareira Trust Christmas Parade, taking this event to another level of festive fun.”
At the festival, spark Christmas magic for the kids with free entertainment including cupcake decorating, face painting, circus performers, Santa’s grotto, and Christmas crafts.
See local celebrities like Harold the Giraffe and Steve the Goat, and enjoy live music, cultural, magic and circus performances.
And of course, top up your Christmas gift shopping with local market stalls selling jewellery, homemade crafts and Christmas decorations.
“Come one, come all to enjoy the Henderson Christmas Festival and celebrate the festive season with us,” Chris says.
“From cupcake decorating and face painting to local market stalls and live performances, there is something for the whole whānau to enjoy.”
This is a family-friendly, smoke-free and alcohol-free event, suitable for all ages.
