Families living near Ōrewa’s Harvest Avenue are invited to walk or bike to the opening of the new park taking place on Sunday, 8 December.
This style of park is known as a neighbourhood park and doesn’t have much parking because it’s been developed for local families who can walk there.
Hibiscus and Bays Local Board Chair Alexis Poppelbaum says the local board is excited to open the park which is a welcome addition to the area and will be a fantastic local facility for local families.
“The community has been involved every step of the way and it shows in the park layout which has a mix of play experiences. There’s even a dry pebbly stream bed that has several crossing points for exploratory play.
“The opening day is a wonderful opportunity for local families to get together and enjoy a fun-filled morning in their neighbourhood and that’s important for any community’s well-being.”
