Adrian Tyler, Kaipātiki Local Board member has stepped down from his position on the board, providing his resignation effective 5 February 2025 to Auckland Council Chief Executive Phil Wilson.

Tyler was elected to the board in 2016, then re-elected in 2019 and 2022. He leaves the board to focus on a full-time career opportunity in education.

“Adrian has been a valuable member of the board and a good friend as well,” says board chair John Gillon. “He has been a consistent advocate for simplifying council processes, making council a more responsive organisation to the community and being an advocate for the Birkenhead area, transport, environmental groups, youth and Māori matters. We wish him well in his future.”

At its business meeting on Wednesday 19 February October, the board resolved to fill the vacancy created by Tyler’s departure.

Raymond Tan was chosen by the board as their newest member on the grounds that he was the highest polling unsuccessful candidate from the 2022 local elections and has extensive knowledge of local government.

Following a public notification, Tan will be sworn in as a new member of the Kaipātiki Local Board at its next business meeting on 19 March 2025.
