North Shore residents are being urged to give feedback on Auckland Council’s Annual Plan with consultation open now until 28 March 2025.
North Shore Councillor Richard Hills is calling on all residents and business owners on the shore to take the time to share their thoughts on the plan so we know we are on the right track.
“This budget represents record investment in our transport, water, and natural environment. In the past, our community has strongly supported investment in these areas, and this budget maintains the balance of funding important services for today while investing in our future. Make sure you take the time to have your voice heard,” Hills says.
The focus of the plan is to strengthen Auckland’s financial and physical resilience, as part of council's Long-Term Plan, while taking care to invest where it is most needed to manage our city's growth.
When giving feedback, some of the things you will be asked about include:
- Council’s plan for 2025/2026, which includes investment in transport, infrastructure, the environment, services and facilities and economic and cultural development and funding for local communities.
- Promotion and funding of major events, including a proposed levy for visitors staying in short term accommodation.
- Plans for your local board area, including a fairer funding model that address imbalances between Auckland’s 21 local boards.
- Proposed changes to targeted rates, fees and charges.
- Tūpuna Maunga Authority and its governance of the 14 Tūpuna Maunga (ancestral mountains) of Tāmaki Makaurau.
Keep in mind that you don’t have to respond to every section.
