Get ready East Auckland!
The Howick Local Board invites you to dive into a world of creativity and culture at the Celebrating Cultures Pop-Up at Ormiston Town Centre, from 15 to 30 March.
Funded by the local board, supported by Ormiston Town Centre and hosted by Te Tuhi and Arts Out East, over two weeks, each day brings a variety of exciting free experiences for everyone to come together and embrace the diversity of the region.
“We’re fortunate to live in one of the most diverse cities in the world. Participating in arts and cultural initiatives enables Aucklanders to express our unique cultures and see ourselves reflected in public places.” Howick Local Board chair Damian Light says.
“It’s fitting that this is happening in Ormiston at the very heart of the wonderfully diverse Flat Bush community. We’re proud to be supporting this amazing programme alongside the Ormiston Town Centre, Te Tuhi and Arts Out East.”
Te Tuhi presents an exciting lineup of cultural events and interactive experiences delivered by local groups and creatives.
The programme includes traditional craft workshops, cooking demonstrations, dance performances, and family-friendly activities such as One World Many Faces paint workshop, mini piñata, poi and dumpling making.

One World, Many Faces painting with Lucy Oclese.
This is a unique celebration of arts, culture, and community.
Access to all the events and workshops is free, but event goers are kindly asked to RSVP through Eventbrite. Click here to view the full programme and book your free tickets.
