It was a busy end to the week with the vibrant sights and sounds of Pasifika 2025 front and centre for Mayor Wayne Brown.

The Mayor was a guest speaker at the opening ceremony to kick off two days of festivities at Western Springs Park earlier today and loved the vibe.

“It was great to take in the arts and crafts stalls where I picked up a tee-shirt and the kai - I enjoyed a whitebait fritter,” said the Mayor.

“Auckland is home to the largest Pasifika community in the country - if not the world - and I'm proud we can celebrate this uniqueness that is so much part of who we are.”

Pasifika, organised by Tātaki Auckland Unlimited, on behalf of Auckland Council, has grown to be one of the biggest festivals in the country.

It attracts thousands every year, and this year, visitors and Aucklanders alike got to enjoy performances on eight stages, featuring 11 Pacific nations.
