Raymond Tan has now joined the Kaipātiki Local Board following the resignation of former member Adrian Tyler.
Tan was sworn in at the board’s business meeting on 19 March. Board chair John Gillon is excited to welcome Tan to the board.
"Raymond was the next highest polling candidate for the Kaipatiki Local Board at the 2022 Auckland Council election and has extensive knowledge of local government. I know he's going to be a fantastic addition to the board and it’s a real pleasure to welcome him to the team," Gillon says.
Born in Singapore, Tan has lived in Totara Vale since 1997, serving as a trustee and chairperson for Target Road school and Glenfield Community Centre and is currently a board member with the Waitakere Trusts Arena, NZ Children’s Choral Academy and the New Zealand Choral Federation.
He is a chartered member of the Institute of Directors and a Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute and holds a PhD, the Henley MBA, an honours degree, several postgraduate diplomas and professional qualifications in business administration.
"I’m passionate about my local community and I can’t wait to start working with the board to make a positive contribution," Tan says.
