Sports clubs, arts organisations and community groups are among the latest recipients of grant funding from Manurewa Local Board.

With $35,600 allocated to groups and organisations in the area, the funding will make a meaningful impact, from sports and arts to community wellbeing and youth education.

Kicking off right on time for the 2025 season, Manurewa Rugby League Football & Sports Club received $3000 to purchase rugby balls and first aid kits, enhancing the safety and resources available for the club.

The Weymouth Residents & Ratepayers Association also received $2000 to assist with the printing costs of their community newsletter, ensuring ongoing communication support with local residents.

Additionally, New Zealand Council of Victim Support Group was awarded $2000 to help fund their volunteer program, which provides vital support to victims of crime in the region.

The Life Education Trust Counties Manukau received $1000 to continue delivering health and wellbeing programs to schools in the area, focusing on supporting development.

“The allocation of grants demonstrates the board’s dedication to fostering community growth by supporting a diverse range of projects and initiatives, ensuring positive outcomes for the Manurewa community,” says board chair Matt Winiata.
