  • Almost $32,000 has been awarded to 24 community groups through Henderson-Massey Local Board’s latest local grants round.
  • Board Chair Chris Carter spoke highly of the groups' contributions and encouraged others to apply in future rounds, noting high demand and limited funding this time.
  • The next Quick Response Grants round opens 7 July 2025, offering funding of $500–$2,000 for small-scale community initiatives.

Community groups and volunteers have received a total of $31,809.16 in funding through the local grants programme offered by Henderson-Massey Local Board.

24 organisations received funding for a wide range of activities—including arts, mental health support, environmental protection, improving kai sovereignty, and youth mentoring.

Henderson-Massey Local Board Chair Chris Carter says the board is proud to support such important work.

“We’d like to thank everyone who took the time and effort to apply for our Local Grants programme. Community groups are the cornerstone of our local area, and it’s their amazing work that helps make Henderson-Massey a better place to live, laugh, and play,” says Carter.
“While we unfortunately couldn’t fund every project due to high demand and limited resources, we encourage groups to apply again in future rounds.”

Henderson-Massey Local Board offers local grants and quick response grants twice a year. Local grants are typically for higher-value projects ($2,000–$5,000), while quick response grants cater to smaller funding needs.

The next round of Henderson-Massey Quick Response Grants opens 7 July 2025, offering grants of $500–$2,000 to successful applicants.
