Witness the fitness: changes to Puketāpapa’s leisure centres

  • Community Leisure Management (CLM) took over management of Cameron Pools and Leisure Centre and Lynfield Youth and Leisure Centre in April.

  • There are new timetables, classes, as well as reduced prices for some programmes.

  • Over the past few months CLM have introduced new additions to both facilities. 

 

New timetables, classes, as well as reduced prices for some programmes are some of the improvements for Puketāpapa’s Cameron Pools and Leisure Centre and Lynfield Youth and Leisure Centre under new management.  

Community Leisure Management (CLM) took over management of both centres in April, as part of changes to Auckland Council’s 20 outsourced pools and leisure centres under new management contracts. 

Over the past few months CLM have introduced new additions to both facilities. 

Chair Ella Kumar says the changes provide more options for the leisure centres. 

“We’ve got two great and engaged facilities in Puketāpapa, and we’re seeing improvements so there are easier ways to get involved, such as new fitness programmes and timetables.
“Sport and fitness have so many positive benefits to our mental and physical state, and these centres also provide a sense of community for people to connect. There are countless benefits to be had from enjoying these facilities.” 

New additions to Cameron Pools and Leisure Centre 

  • Reduced price for ladies night programme.
  • Work closely with local schools for Water Safety programmes. 
  • Changes to the group fitness timetable to cater for a wider variety fitness and ability levels. 

New additions to Lynfield Youth and Leisure Centre 

  • New classes released, including more HIIT Classes, pilates and weekend classes. 
  • Increasing facility hour for badminton, pickleball, table tennis and general hire of our facility to increase to provide more availability for users.
