Auckland elections candidates: by the numbers
It’s been a week since local elections nominations opened. So far 14 candidate nominations have been submitted for the Auckland local elections.

With three weeks until nominations close and a total of 172 positions to fill – it’s early days for the voters who are keenly anticipating the long list of who to vote for. The number of nominations received will be updated weekly at Vote Auckland.
A preliminary list of candidates will be announced as soon as practicable on the evening of Friday 1 August.
The final list of confirmed candidates will be announced on Monday 4 August and will be published on Vote Auckland.
Candidate profiles will be available from Monday 1 September so voters can learn more about candidates and their priorities for Tāmaki Makaurau prior to voting, which opens on Tuesday 9 September.
