Auckland Council has appointed John Duthie as director of the Tāmaki Regeneration Company (TRC).
Councillor Greg Sayers chaired the selection panel and welcomes John to the board.
“John Duthie has exceptional depth of experience in the planning and property development sector. His experience will help guide the Tāmaki Regeneration Company in its delivery of high quality homes and places for an economically and socially thriving Tāmaki,” says Cr Sayers.
TRC is a company established under Schedule 4A of the Public Finance Act, owned by the Crown (59 per cent) and Auckland Council (41 per cent). John Duthie is the appointee of Auckland Council to the board. TRC is leading the regeneration of the suburbs of Glen Innes, Point England and Panmure.
The appointment was approved by the Performance and Appointments Committee on 29 July 2025. The committee is responsible for all appointments to the boards of council-controlled organisations, in accordance with the council’s Appointment and Remuneration Policy for Board Members and the Local Government Act.
About John Duthie
John is a qualified planner with more than forty-five years’ experience and extensive experience in all aspects of planning. He was a founder and director of Tattico from 2010 until recently, where he provided professional expertise in resource management, planning, regeneration, and major developments. Prior to this, John was General Manager City Development at Auckland City Council, where he was heavily involved in major redevelopments of the Britomart Transport Centre, Wynyard Point and Viaduct harbour.
