The Birkenhead Heritage Society has been allocated $12,500 for kitchen and bathroom improvements at its museum at 44 Mahara Avenue.

Kaipātiki Local Board has allocated $180,002 to local arts, sport, wellbeing and community projects across the local board area.

Through its 2025/2026 Round One Local and Multi-Board Grants, the board approved funding to support a wide range of initiatives. The grants will help deliver community programmes and events, upgrade local facilities, and strengthen connections across the area.

Local Board Chair Danielle Grant says the funding helps community organisations continue delivering valuable work for residents of all ages.

“Our initiative offering grants to help local clubs and organisations improve their buildings has been well received by the Kaipātiki community. Alongside this, our traditional grants continue to support programmes, services, and spaces that bring people together, support wellbeing, and give everyone the chance to take part,” she says.

“By investing in both community groups and local infrastructure, we’re helping to create a stronger, safer, and more connected Kaipātiki. We look forward to receiving more applications from community organisations when the next grants round opens between 16 February and 27 March 2026.”
