1. Wander and wonder
- Mangemangeroa Walkway - Kōwhai Path
Lace up your shoes and make the most of this beautiful part of Mangemangeroa, a gentle 2–3km wander (around 45–60 minutes) filled with coastal bush, birdsong, and stunning stream views. - Murphys Bush Takes about 45 minutes to complete and winds through Auckland’s largest remaining stand of mature lowland bush. Enter from Murphys Road, and enjoy the towering kahikatea, peaceful picnic spots, and native birdlife along the way.
- Lloyd Elsmore Park Trail Take an easy 45–60-minute walk, scooter, or bike around the park. Start at the main car park, pass the pool, BMX track, skatepark, and football fields toward Howick Historic Village, and pause at the playground or duck pond. Finish with a splash at the pool or splash pad.
- Shelly Park Loop If you love a good nature walk, this loop is perfect - start at 108 Somerville Road and enjoy a relaxed 5km wander through forest, estuary scenery, and some of East Auckland’s most stunning hidden spots.
- Eastern Beach Sundowner Stroll Unwind with a relaxed 2.5 km beachside stroll that’s perfect for families. Start from Rogers or Macleans Park and follow the pram- and wheelchair-friendly path along the sand and grass. Enjoy coastal views, stop at the beachfront playground, and cool off with a swim when the tide’s in.
