Help play a role in deciding the future of your local suburbs by getting involved in the 2026/2027 Annual Plan.
The plan sets out what Auckland Council plans to achieve during the 2026/2027 financial year, the services that will be provided, how much money will be spent and where this money will come from.
The plan also builds on the progress made in the Long-term Plan (2024-2034).
For the Albert-Eden-Puketāpapa ward, this includes a range of projects and key priorities, such as fixing the Mt Albert Library roof and adopting the Monte Cecila Masterplan.
Ward councillor Julie Fairey says it’s always important to have your say in the Annual Plan, especially with the CRL opening this year.
“The opening of the City Rail Link (CRL) will be a major highlight for our city in 2026, transforming public transport in Tāmaki Makaurau and helping to regenerate around stations like Maungawhau Mt Eden. Operating and owning the CRL does add operational costs for council, through interest, depreciation and running the trains, and that is reflected in the proposed rates rise.”
Ward councillor Chrisine Fletcher adds that it’s important to get involved in the future decisions of your area.
“I am very mindful of the current cost of living crisis and fear the pressure and impact increasing rates will put on Auckland families. With this in mind, I urge Auckland’s to have their say."
