Plant natives and help green up Tāmaki Makaurau
Native plants like pōhutukawa, mānuka, and harakeke are vital to Tāmaki Makaurau’s natural environment. They support local wildlife, improve water quality, prevent erosion, and thrive in Auckland’s climate with less need for maintenance. Planting natives helps restore biodiversity, protect ecosystems, and connects us with the unique landscape and cultural heritage of Aotearoa.
