All eligible voters should now have received their voting papers. If they haven’t, or they’re damaged, or have been sent to an old address, you can still vote in the local elections.
Electoral Officer Dale Ofsoske is urging people without voting papers to cast a special vote.
“If your voting pack has not arrived in the post - as you may have recently changed address or are on the unpublished roll - call the Electoral Office on 0800 922 822 and we will post you out a special vote.
“We want to provide all eligible voters the opportunity to have their say.”
Auckland Council General Manager Democracy Services says special votes can also be cast at five Auckland libraries, nine council service centres, or by visiting a One Stop Shop.
“One Stop Shops allow people to enrol and vote at the same time.
“About 50 will pop up at markets, universities, marae and malls, throughout the election period.”
