There are various small pockets of diverse communities, including Irish, Burmese, and Sri Lankan communities, that we would like to celebrate including Pacific Island and Māori cultures.
The Oranga Community Centre currently hosts a community lunch every Friday year-round. However, for the World of Cultures event, we plan to focus each Friday's lunch on a different culture. For instance, one Friday might focus around Burmese culture and cuisine, encouraging our Burmese community to actively participate in our community and share stories about their culture.
