Step into the vibrant world of Auckland's multicultural communities in the second instalment of the 'Diverse-City' exhibition series. Following the theme of collective organizing in our previous instalment, 'Diverse-City 2.0' delves into the migrant and diaspora collective organizations and the individuals who work towards creating transformational safe spaces for themselves and for those who come in contact with them.

Showcasing a captivating array of photographs, posters, ephemera, and original creations, the exhibition features collections from organizations such as Sur Collective, Aunty’s House, and Black Creatives Aotearoa, as well as the distinctive work of artist and photographer Diego Barbosa.

The exhibition also features photographs and oral histories from Auckland Libraries Heritage Collections. We extend a huge thank you to these community groups for their contributions towards this exhibition.

Come and engage with these communities, their social networks, and their stories.

Listen to this playlist from the Auckland Libraries Oral History Collections that reflect the exhibition and our communities. https://soundcloud.com/auckland-libraries/sets/diverse-city-20-aucklands-multicultural-communities
