Join us at Central City Library for an exhilarating day dedicated to transforming your wardrobe sustainably! ‘Sustainable Style Swap’ offers you the chance to refresh your wardrobe while promoting the exchange of pre-loved fashion items.
Auckland Libraries is partnering with Fashion Revolution New Zealand to present a one-day clothes swap at the Central City Library. Fashion Revolution is renowned for its advocacy of sustainability in fashion, and we're thrilled to host them at the library. This is Fashion Revolution New Zealand's first style swap of 2024, following Fashion Revolution Week (15-24 April 2024), which celebrated the 10 year anniversary of Fashion Revolution and its journey.
One the day of the event, Fashion Revolution's dedicated team of volunteers will oversee the swap, ensuring that garments meet quality standards and are presented in excellent condition.
Important things to remember:
Simply drop off up to 10 clothing items or accessories at the library on the morning of the swap and receive tokens in return. Later in the day, browse through the selection of items and redeem your tokens for your chosen pieces.
Please remember to bring clothing that is clean and in good condition, as items not meeting these standards may not be accepted.
Make sure to also visit the Heritage Gallery on Level 2 of the library and explore our latest fashion exhibition, "That's So Last Century: What We Wore 1950s-1990s." Immerse yourself in the styles, accessories, and trends of the past for a nostalgic fashion journey.

While you wait for the swap to begin, join Zoë Colling, one of the curators of the current exhibition, ‘That’s so last century: What we wore 1950s – 1990s’ for an informal chat about the display. This will run from 12 -1pm, so take this opportunity to explore the contents of the exhibition alongside the creative minds that worked on it.
