Strand Arcade, 227 Queen Street, Saturday 18 May, 11am-3pm. Pop up market of music and related street culture. Record fair, DJs, sneaker swap meet and customising, streetwear merch and street art. From Outside are running a live studio and producing an album in real time. Giveaways and prizes from host MC Thomas Rose. 

The market extends across the city centre from Wellesley Street to Queens Arcade with iconic street wear stores, live music, a skate challenge, giveaways, discounts and an exhibition of music photography.

BIG FOOT NZ SNEAKER SWAP MEET 

Sneaker culture was born at the crossroads of hip hop music and professional sport. Now a billion-dollar industry with celebrity collabs and a legitimate culture itself. There will be plenty of fire up for grabs. Don't sleep! 

SKY PIRATES STREETWEAR

A leading streetwear brand releasing limited edition goodies for a minute. Featuring exclusive artwork from Tāmaki graffiti artist Deus and hand selected by YGB stalwart Lucky Lance. Stock is limited so move fast or risk copping the L.

This prominent Tāmaki crew host an exhibition of art and motifs aligned to street culture. Super exclusive artwork is available for purchase.

A selection of the city's top DJs will be throwing down grooves that will have you dancing in the street. Featuring Poppa Jax, Thomas Rose and Julien Dyne.

Canterbury Arcade, 170 Queen Street, 11am – 3pm

Local DJ/Producer 'Caru' or Carl is playing some of his favourite tunes. Known for his remixes and bootlegs of 90's and Y2K classics, he guarantees to get you grooving in your dancing shoes. If you are shoeless, do not fret – you can snag a pair in-store. Giveaways and 10% off all full price styles on 18 May.

STIRLING SPORT

Downstairs, 170 Queen Street, 11am - 3pm

DJ Poppa Jax is a Wahine Māori nō te iwi o Ngāti Raukawa. This talented DJ calls Tāmaki Makaurau her home and musical playground.

HYPE STORE

184 Queen Street, 11am – 3pm

DJ Solnate - South Auckland raised in all the encompassing musical roots of RnB, soul, reggae and urban hip –hop. Solnate will be dropping a big positive vibe and a fun experience with instore specials on NIKE.

TRAINERS SKATEBOARDING

5 High Street, 12 - 4pm

DJS are playing back-to-back. In-store specials - each customer spending over $80 receives a free coffee local coffee shop Dose. 

SKATE CHALLENGE 1-3pm - Trick challenge outside the store with skate friends - bring your skateboard and learn from the best.

ODD EVEN STORE

5 High Street, 11am - 2pm

DJ vitamin cos (she/her) is playing instore. She likes to be experimental blending techno/trance/baile funk/UKG and more. Her ideal set involves crowd interaction and heaps of grooving on a multi-genre journey. 

JB HIFI

126 Queen Street, 11am – 1.30pm

11am – 12pm - Ben Mack cowboy pop from Tāmaki Makaurau.

12.30 - 1.30pm - Geoff Ong, “I'm from Auckland, and my family is originally from Malaysia. I grew up taking piano lessons like a lot of Asian kids, and my dad had a great music collection from his time in London in the 1970's”.

2pm – 3pm - Alayna Powell - NZ singer songwriter, playing originals. Rotorua-born Alayna has worked with world-renowned songwriters and producers. Supported by HOLIDAY RECORDS who brought vinyl pressing back to New Zealand in 2018 for the first time since the 1980’s!

Marbecks

Queens Arcade, 34 Queen Street, 11am – 3pm

The bands and DJ will be set up inside the Arcade. The acoustics with the double-height ceiling are amazing! 

Gloria Florence is a folk/rock singer songwriter who blends the sweet sounds of country picking with the tough lyrics of gritty punk rock. 

Big Sur is a five-piece alternative folk group from Tāmaki Makaurau. 

Work is the collective project of Max Brandon-Warren, Anna Kalatcheva, Tane Moore and Rocky Parsons, existing amidst a sonic world of post-punk, pop, and country. 

DJ Gin brings next level, genre-free tunes on bFM each Tuesday, and is a long-time Marbecks staff member with impeccable musical taste.
