What would you make for your ultimate dream Birthday dinner? Using this deliciously fun idea as inspiration, in this one-day printing and collage workshop we’re learning how to make gelli prints for all the ingredients of our favourite meal!
We’ll begin by layering a variety of textured materials to build up our plate and then start adding cool embellishments using gelli plates - a super fun, fast, and quick-drying printing method - for details like sesame seeds on hamburger buns, doughnut sprinkles, whipped cream, or grilled cheese toppings to incorporate into your collages.
Led by artist and tutor Alexandra Murphy, we’ll experiment with scale, going from super-small to super-sized, and see how layering textures, can create an almost 3-dimensional effect! Learning a wide range of compositional and design skills along with fun new printmaking techniques, this will be a scrumptious, colourful, and delightfully messy workshop and a whole lot of fun!
