Take a FREE guided walk in beautiful Omaha with your local park ranger team, Omaha Shorebird Protection Trust, and conservation experts.

The walk will venture along the Omaha spit - a nationally significant bird refuge area. The Omaha spit forms a barrier between open sea and the Whangateau Harbour, an unspoilt tidal estuary.

The area provides habitat for a range of native shorebirds which feed on the estuary at low tide. Learn about the biodiversity of this unique coastal ecosystem and what people can do to help protect vulnerable shorebirds through responsible pet ownership and other activities.

An average level of fitness and mobility is required.
