When it comes to Auckland waterfront parks, Mission Bay is an iconic picnic spot – and we have packed you a musical picnic with tunes from great Kiwi artists and a side serving of summer roots reggae.
Captain Festus McBoyle’s Travellin’ Variety Show hits the stage first, bringing their madcap musical comedy to entertain the kids. Then, dark-pop artist Michèle Ducray delivers spellbinding songs about the fantastical and mystical.
Huia Hamon takes over with electronic beats, organic percussion, live guitars and deep harmonies. Huia’s set is a richly layered big bass sound with conscious lyrics in te reo Māori, English and a touch of Spanish.
Lost Tribe Aotearoa heads this line up. The 8-piece family-based band is from Raglan and bring a sound that’s an eclectic mix of roots, dub, rock, ska and blues. They’re known for their high-energy live shows – head on down to Mission Bay to catch their uplifting vibes!
