Join us for a free family-friendly celebration of Waiheke’s food heritage, past, present and future.

Enjoy produce competitions, demonstrations, workshops, talks, tastings, stories, food stalls, games for tamariki and music! This thoroughly nourishing festival for all ages showcases the island’s culinary richness, and includes the Homemade Chilli Sauce Fest at Wild Estate from 1 - 3pm, a fantastic showcase of Waiheke's homemade chili sauces, salsas, jams and chutneys.

Entry to the chili sauce competition is open to any Waiheke person making something homemade - there are several categories, but the main thing is to include chillies! You don't have to grow your own, but if you do you get bragging rights. Judging is by public vote, which is also free entry.

This event is part of EcoFest, an annual month-long festival taking place Saturday 22 March – Tuesday 22 April 2025. Inspiring climate action across Tāmaki Makaurau, it is hosted in collaboration by EcoMatters, Kaipātiki Project, Beautification Trust and Waiheke Resources Trust, and proudly supported by Auckland Council. Visit ecofest.org.nz and join us!
