Join us for a unique opportunity to meet two master weavers, Ruth Port and Mandy Sunlight, both members of the highly skilled weaving collective Te Rā Ringa Raupā.
This talented group recreated the only known woven Māori sail, a taonga currently on display at the Auckland Museum. This drop-in, interactive session will give you the chance to watch Ruth and Mandy weave, kōrero about their mahi raranga (weaving work), and gain a close-up look at their practice and the intricate process behind creating woven sails.
