Howick Local Board, the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) and Auckland Transport have confirmed plans for a new pontoon at Half Moon Bay, with additional improvements to the surrounding area.
Howick Local Board Chair David Collings says it’s a big step forward for Half Moon Bay ferry services. “Howick Local Board has been strongly advocating development of the wharf to accommodate increasing numbers of ferry users from Half Moon Bay,” he says.
“Based on current plans, with the board’s contribution of up to $2.5 million and along with Auckland Transport’s commitment, I am delighted that NZTA have now agreed to a 50 per cent subsidy for this project. I thank them for their support and look forward to seeing the works in progress.”
