A Waitematā Local Board initiative to encourage youth in local communities was taken up by a group of students at Freeman's Bay Primary who wanted their voices heard in council decisions.
Along with a small grant from the local board, the students decided that a website that feeds into public consultations would be the most effective means to provide a voice for youth in the region.
New Zealand Herald reporter Catherine Smith met with the students recently and got the inside scoop.
