The Devonport-Takapuna Local Board has confirmed its support for a rejuvenated campground at Takapuna Beach.
At the local board meeting on 15 December, board members agreed to start an expression of interest process for a holiday park in the same location, on 90 per cent of the existing park’s current footprint.
“The local board has given a clear direction on what it wants for the future of this site,” says Devonport-Takapuna Local Board Chair Joseph Bergin.
The local board has set out guiding principles for parties interested in making an expression of interest, which includes improving public access and amenity value and maximising the return on investment to the council.
The amount of $50,000 has been set aside from the local board’s budget to fund the process.
