Council team gears up for City Mission lunch

Regional Facilities Auckland’s (RFA) Auckland Conventions Venues & Events team is hard at work preparing to host the annual Christmas Day Auckland City Mission lunch.

“We are very proud to be hosting this important community event for the fifth year running,” says Auckland Conventions Director Mohamed Mansour.

“Last year we hosted 2100 people, families, friends and whānau, at the ANZ Viaduct Events Centre. This Christmas, we expect as many, if not more, people to attend and our team is working hard to make it as special as ever.

“By sponsoring this event, we believe it is a way for RFA to ‘give back’ to our community through the provision of our stunning venue and our staff members’ time and support to make this a special day for people in need.”

Busy festive season ahead

Mohamed adds that in addition to this charitable event, Auckland Conventions is expecting a busy festive period ahead with the ‘party season’ ramping up across Auckland.

“We have a large number of events planned – ranging from family-orientated parties at Auckland Zoo, cocktail functions at Auckland Art Gallery, to gala dinners at the ANZ Viaduct Events Centre and Aotea Centre.”

Council-controlled organisation Regional Facilities Auckland manages major regional facilities and iconic venues across Auckland, including the ANZ Viaduct Events Centre, Auckland Zoo, Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki and Mt Smart Stadium.
