The New Lynn Suburbs Rugby Club has a new toilet and changing rooms facility thanks to a partnership between the club and Whau Local Board.

The facility at Sister Rene Shadbolt Park was recently opened by Whau Local Board Chair Catherine Farmer, Councillor Ross Clow, Patron of the club Lloyd Dowd and Chair of the club Stefan Crooks.

The facility houses six changing rooms with showers, four toilets (two of which are accessible).

One toilet will be open for the public to use during the day between 7am and 9pm. The remaining toilets will be opened as required for sports activities. Water-saving devices have been used in the design, such as push-button taps and timer showers.

ā€œIā€™m thrilled that, working together, our board and the Suburbs Rugby Club were able to deliver a high-quality, modern changing facility that will meet the needs of our local athletes for years to come,ā€ says Chair Farmer.

Following completion of the changing rooms the car park will be upgraded, and new lighting around the car park will be installed. This should be completed by July 2016.
