The Tripartite Economic Alliance Summit was rounded off in style on Tuesday night with more than 700 people attending Auckland Conversations’ Shaping Future Cities at the Viaduct Events Centre.

This year’s largest Auckland Conversation audience came from around the globe to hear innovative thought-leaders share their vision of what cities will look like 25 years from now and how that is shaping the decisions they are making today.

Los Angeles-based residential and commercial property developer Tom Gilmore, Sino-Singapore Knowledge City CEO Ng Kok Siong and Auckland’s Precinct Properties CEO Scott Pritchard gave fascinating detail on the challenges and opportunities each city is facing.

All three speakers shared key learnings from their current projects and offered valuable insights and opinions into the way cities are evolving with relation to urban design, sustainability, smart technology and key business partnerships.

Mayor Len Brown brought the evening and the hugely successful Tripartite Economic Summit to a close by challenging Guangzhou to raise the bar when it hosts the summit next year.

#AklConversations lights up Twitter (again)

Once again #AklConversations was trending across the twittersphere, with a number of people engaging in the conversation online. Audience members, those watching the live-stream at home, and even those that didn’t have access to a screen were all keen to have their say and share their thoughts on what the future looks like for our cities.
