Happy about Howick

A word from Councillors Dick Quax and Sharon Stewart

We are pleased with the growth in the Howick Local Board area.

Howick businesses have outpaced New Zealand national growth statistics every year for the last 10 years. There has been an increase of more than 3500 businesses and 10,000 new jobs, highlighting the economic health and vitality of the area.

Together we recently visited one example of a successful business, Howick Limited, a local engineering business that has been operating in Howick for over 38 years. This business has been very successful in marketing overseas, particularly within the USA, Russia and China.

Howick Limited Business Director Hamish Coubray is keen to get together with other businesses in the area to discuss ways of improving their services. This company has a lot of knowledge to share with our community, to help continue to drive business success in the area.

The business recently attended the Tripartite Economic Summit hosted by ATEED and Auckland Council, giving them a chance to build even stronger international relationships.

We are looking forward to seeing continued economic growth in the Howick area, and more local businesses gaining international traction.
