Awards recognise the good sorts

Do you have an unsung hero in your community?

The Ōrākei Local Board is seeking nominations for its Community Volunteer Recognition Awards 2016.

The awards celebrate the efforts of individuals and groups who make the Ōrākei ward a great place to live – but the awards also aim to inspire others to volunteer too.

“There are a huge number of volunteers - often unsung heroes - who give off their personal time to contribute to our community. This is one small way for us all to say thank you” says Ōrākei Local Board Chair, Desley Simpson.

“Volunteering isn’t the easiest task, but the Community Volunteer Recognition Awards are a way to say thanks to these special people,” Desley says.

How to nominate someone

  1. Complete this online form and email it to the Orakei Local Board
  2. Or post/hand deliver it to the Ōrākei Local Board office, shop 25, Meadowbank Shopping Centre, 35 St Johns Rd, Meadowbank.

Nominations close 5pm Friday 3 June.
