Donating money, not goods, is the best way Aucklanders can help people affected by the recent 7.8 magnitude earthquake, says the Ministry of Civil Defence.
People are being asked not to donate goods to the affected regions at this stage, as they pose serious logistical issues around transport, storage and distribution.
Relief funds have been set up, including the Red Cross Appeal, and donating money to these is a good way to show your support.
You can also help by checking on any family or friends in the quake zone as they work through this difficult time.
