A small sinkhole near the already damaged Clark Street culvert has been repaired.
Contractors working on the Clark Street culvert in New Lynn discovered a small sinkhole near the culvert on the evening of Thursday 4 May.
Barry Potter, Director Environment and Infrastructure Services, says New Lynn town centre is open for business. Traffic management measures are in place.
“The sinkhole has been filled in and a seal patch applied while investigations are made as to the causes and what repair work is needed.
“The impact on traffic flow has been minimal at this stage and the New Lynn town centre is open for business but it’s possible there may be some further disruption to traffic flows in the area.
“We thank people in advance for their patience as we address this issue and continue with the on-going work to improve the nearby culvert inlet.”
