Auckland Council is inviting members of the public to sign a Book of Remembrance in memory of Auckland Councillor Dick Quax.
Councillor Quax served the Pakuranga, Botany-Clevedon and Howick areas for seventeen years as a councillor, first with Manukau City Council and then Auckland Council.
He is also remembered as one of New Zealand’s finest athletes, an Olympics and Commonwealth Games silver medalist and former world record holder.
Members of the public can take the opportunity to sign a Book of Remembrance over the next week at either the ground floor of the Auckland Town Hall or the foyer of the Auckland Council building at 135 Albert Street.
The books will be open between the hours of Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm.
On Friday 8 June, both books will be moved to the Howick area with one available for the public to sign in the Howick Library and one in the Botany Library until Friday 22 June.
The location and opening hours of both libraries can be found here.
