Botany Road will be safer and less congested following Auckland Transport's (AT) proposed changes to two major intersections.
AT is seeking feedback until 17 August on proposed changes to the Millhouse Drive and Cascades Road intersections.
The changes would see the roads widened to create new traffic lanes, improved traffic signals and road markings, high friction surfacing, a signalised pedestrian crossing and a raised zebra crossing.
Melanie Alexander, AT's Traffic Engineering Manager says a study by Auckland Transport found there were long traffic delays at each intersection during peak times and pedestrian safety needed to be improved.
"The changes will deal with the significant delays motorists currently face plus there isn't a controlled pedestrian crossing at the slip lane from Botany Road onto Cascades Road which makes it difficult for pedestrians to cross this busy road.
"We're committed to making it safer for people to be able to walk to where they need to go in their local area."
Detailed maps and more information on the changes are available online. To give your feedback or to learn more, visit the AT website.
