It’s easier than ever to get the whānau out of the house during the colder months thanks to the Kaipātiki Community Facilities Trust’s winter fun programme.
Funded by the Kaipātiki Local Board and the Birkenhead Licensing Trust, the winter programme runs from now until 14 September with free events using the Trust’s huge range of play equipment at local halls and youth centres throughout the Kaipātiki region.
Kaipātiki Local Board Chair John Gillon says the programme has had a very positive response from Kaipātiki families in the past.
“We are proud to support Winter Fun again this year, so that families can continue to meet and keep active inside in the warmth, when it is too cold and wet to use our playgrounds.”
Kaipātiki Community Facilities Trust Manager Jill Nerheny stresses that while the programme runs multiple pre-school sessions, weekend and school holiday events offer options for the whole family.
“It was really important to us that we offered something that older children and whole families in the area could really enjoy and get engaged with,” she says.
