There’s just a week left for people intending to stand in Tāmaki Makaurau’s local elections to get their nominations papers handed in – the clock is ticking down to the deadline on midday Friday 12 August.
“It is strongly encouraged that people lodge their nomination form sooner rather than later. This will ensure that any errors can be rectified in time and so no one misses out at the cut off,” advises Rose Leonard, Manager Governance Services.
“We’re really looking forward to seeing a brilliant range of candidates for Auckland.”

To stand in Auckland’s local elections, you’ll need to complete a nomination form – these are available to download here. The nomination form requires signatures from any two voters who are enrolled in the area you will be standing for and a $200 deposit fee (refundable if you poll greater than 25 per cent of the lowest successful candidate).
