Apply for an Upper Harbour grant

Community groups wanting to deliver projects and events in the Upper Harbour Local Board area have until 17 March to apply for funding.

Local Board Chair Anna Atkinson says that grants support sport and recreation, environment, heritage, arts, events and community projects.

“It’s very inspiring to be able to support some of the great work being done in our communities.

“With the grants rounds typically over-subscribed and the amounts requested far exceeding the amount available, we are trying to make every dollar count.

"We see the difference that grants can make to our community groups.”

Also open are the multi-board grants which assist with the costs of projects and events that benefit Upper Harbour communities and the funding is provided in collaboration with other local boards.

A previous applicant used the grant to organise companionship activities for seniors in multiple locations.

Apply for a grant

Local and multi-board grants are offered twice a year.

Applicants can apply for any amount and complete an online application form at aucklandcouncil.govt.nz

Grant decisions will be made at the local board business meeting on 20 April 2023 and projects must start after 1 June 2023.

Grants awarded

Last September $35,919.50 was awarded to eight organisations from local grants and $6,000 to two organisations from multi-board grants.

A full list of grant recipients can be found in the Upper Harbour Local Board meeting minutes for September 2022.
