Update 08 August
As of Tuesday 8 August, Onehunga Bay Reserve and Taumanu Reserve toilets are now open to the public. Work to clean up the sewage overflow is completed.
Remember to check Safeswim for information about Auckland’s beach water quality before entering the water.
Update 04 August
Onehunga Bay Reserve and lagoon is currently closed to the public due to a sewage overflow. The public toilets at nearby Taumanu Reserve are also closed due to the same issue, although the rest of the reserve remains open.
Contractors are currently on site addressing the issue. The health and safety of the public is a priority and all points of entry to Onehunga Bay Reserve will remain closed until the situation has been resolved.
We thank the public for their patience and cooperation.
