The best kai Franklin as to offer will be on a plate when the Kitchen Project offers a special dinner on 8 April.
Kai Franklin Chef's Table will turn 1 Roulston Street in Pukekohe into a chic restaurant for a night as local produce and talent comes together to highlight the area’s food production expertise.
Franklin Local Board chair Angela Fulljames says the event will showcase the range and quality of local produce.
“We are pleased to be supporting this ticketed event, organised by The Kitchen Project and supported by the Pukekohe Business Association and Eke Panuku Development Auckland.
“The importance of our primary producers and the skills of our chefs can’t be overstated. So much of the economic stability of our area relies on food production.
“Put simply, we grow it and make it, Auckland and beyond eats it.”
The Kitchen Project is an Auckland Council food incubator initiative that has been nurturing local food entrepreneurs since 2018, emphasising culture, healthy food, and sustainable business practices.
The programme includes classroom learning, kitchen access and mentorship support.
Manager Connie Clarkson says the food will salute Franklin’s food producers and their constant innovation.
“Guests will have the cnace to meet the chefs and producers responsible for crafting the evening’s fare.
“The menu for the night is a collaboration among some of Pukekohe’s favourite eateries. The Daily Goods kicks off with a trio of canapes, followed by an entrée from SuMei. Blue Ox Babe presents the main, and the evening will conclude with a dessert trio from Seddon 64.”
Featured dishes will showcase the best seasonally sourced ingredients, including organic meats from Black Pond, Eastherbrook Farms’ duck, Clevedon Buffalo’s fresh ricotta, and vegetables from The Fresh Grower.
Even the staff will be local, students from Pukekohe High School serving up both the food and entertainment.
Tickets are available from Eventfinda here.
