Nominations are open for the Devonport-Takapuna Community Volunteer Awards 2024 and locals are being encouraged to nominate a good citizen, volunteer, or group of volunteers!

The awards acknowledge the great work provided by individuals and organisations whose contributions deliver positive community benefit, recognising the stars who volunteer their time to benefit the community and local community groups or not-for-profit organisations who provide a platform for individuals to volunteer their time.

Saying thank you

Devonport-Takapuna Local Board Chair Toni Van Tonder says that the awards are just one small way to say thank you to the incredible people who are the heartbeat of the community.

“We all know people like this in the clubs our kids play at, or who are always out picking litter, or providing services for people who need it most.

“People who go above and beyond to make the community a better place are what makes us tick, and their efforts being recognised is something that we really value as a board.
“So please take some time to nominate that special person or organisation that makes the difference in your neighbourhood, and show them how much their efforts mean to you and the community.”

All nominees and winners will be recognised at the event, held during National Volunteer Week on 18 June.
