A range of fun, free events to keep young Westies of all ages active over the summer period is set to go thanks to a $42,500 investment from the Henderson-Massey Local Board.
The Out and About programme hosts a range of events, from circus activities and Hungerball to obstacle courses and adventurous nature play, ensuring there is something to capture all imaginations.
The activities are hosted at local parks and reserves from November 2024 until March 2025.
“The Henderson-Massey Local Board wants to encourage local residents to connect with nature and stay active and healthy over our beautiful Tāmaki Makaurau summer,” says Henderson-Massey Local Board Chair Chris Carter.
“Play, recreation and sport are central to our work, and we are proud to fund these activities.
“Take advantage of these free events to enjoy our local parks and reserves and get the kids out and about to burn up that energy!”
While the events are free to attend, some have limited spaces, so register early to avoid disappointment and keep your summer calendar packed full of fun.
The online activity calendar lists all upcoming events, and the Out and About team also posts information on their Facebook page. Keep an eye on the page for any changes to the schedule.
And if your tamariki still have fuel in the engine, check our local libraries! There are four libraries in the Henderson-Massey Local Board area, and 10 in the wider west, that offer endless holiday fun for the whole whānau.
