Wenderholm Regional Park has reopened with limited facilities after being closed temporarily due to an issue with the water supply to the park.

Although the park is now open to the public, visitors will need to bring their own drinking water and use portaloos on site, as all toilet blocks remain closed.

We are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible. In the meantime, we are encouraging people to consider visiting one of the many other beautiful parks across the region.

Where to go instead

There are 27 other regional parks you can visit across Tāmaki Makaurau, each with their own unique charm.

Why not walk the Gannet Track which recently reopened at Muriwai Regional Park, explore rock pools at Tāwharanui Regional Park, play a nine or 18-hole disc golf course at Waitawa Regional Park, or try one of eight green flag award-winning parks?

There’s always plenty to do at Auckland’s regional parks. You can also find a park or beach to visit by searching on the Auckland Council website
