Dive into cost savings at the Mount Albert Aquatic Centre from April with free entry for children aged under 17 years.

As well as no entry fees for under 17-year-olds, the Albert-Eden Local Board have approved a number of other price reductions, including dropping the cost of supervising adults swimming with children under 5 years from $8.60 to $2.

The price changes reflect council's commitment to community wellbeing and enable the region-wide provision of free swimming for all children under 17 years of age.

Local Board Chair Kendyl Smith says it’s great to have free access to the pool for children.

“The local board has advocated for some time around easier access and less financial restrictions to the Mount Albert Aquatic Centre, and with water safety such a high priority living in Auckland, it’s going to remove barriers for our children, youth and young families to enjoy the facility and improve on water confidence.”

There is a $5.30 charge to use the hydroslide, as the cost is currently included in the old pool entry fee.

Adult swimming is reducing to $8 per visit while an additional cost for the sauna, steam and spa pool is being introduced, consistent with other council aquatic centres.

The new prices will come into effect from Tuesday 1 April 2025.
