  • A mobile book bus is now operating from the Titirangi Library carpark to maintain essential library services during the 12-month refurbishment of the Titirangi War Memorial Hall and Library.
  • The book bus offers key services such as hold pickups, returns, and a small book collection, with preschool programmes continuing nearby and other events held at Lopdell Precinct.

A mobile book bus is providing library services during the major upgrade of the Titirangi War Memorial Hall and Library.

Starting Monday 30 June, the book bus offers an essential range of library services and operates from the library carpark at 500 South Titirangi Road, Titirangi.

Waitākere Ranges Local Board chair Greg Presland is pleased that core library services will be maintained throughout the 12-month construction period.

“The book bus is stationed conveniently at the library site so that library patrons can continue to access core library services.
“I’d like to thank our library staff for ensuring a smooth and efficient transition. Their efforts will greatly benefit our community during this period," says Presland.

Visitors can pick up holds, return items, and browse a small collection of adult and children’s books, including titles from the popular Bestie collection.

Preschoolers won’t miss out either as their weekly programmes will continue nearby at Titirangi Community House while a range of adult and children’s events will take place at the Lopdell Precinct.

Anyone needing other library services including computers, printing, or access to the wider collection, nearby libraries are located at Glen Eden, New Lynn, and Blockhouse Bay.

Book bus hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 9am–5pm
  • Saturday: 10am–4pm
  • Closed daily for lunch from 12.30pm–1pm
