This Anzac Day marks 110 years of remembrance commemorating the landing of Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) troops at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915. The first official day of commemoration was held the following year, in 1916.
Anzac Day is a time of reflection, bringing whānau and community together to honour those who have served and sacrificed for Aoteroa. It is a time remember, to connect and to share stories and memories across generations.
Franklin Local Board chair, Alan Cole looks forward to paying his respects.
“We encourage you, where possible, to join us in recognising the bravery, resilience and strength within our communities. It is also an opportunity to pause and reflect on the freedoms we enjoy today, made possible through the service and sacrifice of others,” says chair Cole.
Franklin Local Board, Auckland Council and Auckland Returned Services Assocation (RSA) invite you to join our local services and parades, honouring New Zealanders past and present who have served in conflicts, peacekeeping missions or military operations around the world.
Below is a list of Anzac Day services and parades held across Franklin.
