Awards shine light on local businesses
Forage Cafe with Albert-Eden Local Board Chair Peter Haynes and Deputy Chair Glenda Fryer.

After months of nominations, public voting and mystery shoppers, Albert-Eden’s top businesses have been recognised at a special awards evening.

Ten businesses won at the Albert-Eden Business Awards held at Alexandra Park on Tuesday 17 May. It is the very first time the awards have been held. But Farro Fresh Epsom and Forage Café were the two big winners of the night.

Dominion Road’s Forage Café won the Supreme Award and Farro Fresh Epsom won the People's Choice Award after receiving almost 500 votes from the public.

Albert-Eden Local Board Deputy Chair Glenda Fryer is thrilled by the number of votes received by the public and the positive response by the businesses.

“We have been absolutely blown away by the quality of finalists. The awards are just one way we can celebrate and show our support to these local businesses.”

Chair Peter Haynes hopes the awards will become an annual event after this year’s success.

“The awards foster a sense of pride around the local business community, while communicating to the wider public the quality of businesses in our local board area.”
